Thing 20

I went a little different on this "thing" then focusing merely on Education. The video I chose was a program that came to my high school called Between the Barrels. This program presented to schools all across the state of Tennessee and I was a guest speaker for them. The program informs students about teen driving and precautions to take while driving with friends, drinking and driving, or slowing down during construction areas.

This is only one part of the program but it was very informative for students to raise awareness in order to save lives. This video was filmed almost three years ago, but the program still presents every year during the Spring. I have always been a huge fan for YouTube because it is where I gain all of my videos and podcasts for presentations. This is a great tool for resources for students and teachers.

  1. Wow Ariel, thank you for sharing this video, and taking the time to speak to other teenagers! That is awsome of you to put yourself out there and share such a devistating story. My family lost a loved one similarly when he was 19. I understand the devistation it has to an entire family. I am very sorry for your loss, and am sure your brother is proud of you now :o)

  2. Aw thank you!!! That really means a lot. You're very welcome, at first I was up in the air about sharing it until one of my friends who is also in this class told me it would be cool to share in the blog. I am also sorry about your loss, I know it is tough! I had the privelage of counseling youth every summer going through gried and guest speaking across TN. I found that speaking about it helps me the most.

  3. I am impressed you actually created your own video for this "thing." Everyone else I follow just found one on Youtube, as did I.
